FAQ’S

  • No, it is not painful at all and is quite relaxing. The needles are hair thin. You may feel a slight sensation of pressure, heaviness or a dull ache. Sometimes, you may even feel energy move up or down the extremities. This is normal and actually really good.

  • Acupuncture has been around for well over 3,000 years and is known to work with the body’s natural ability to heal itself by influencing the nervous system, vascular, endocrine and lymphatic drainage systems. Simply put, the hair thin needles tap your hair like nerve endings on every square inch of the body and sending signals to the brain lightning fast to stimulate blood flow and increase your natural pain blockers (endorphins & endocannabinoid receptors) immediately to reduce pain and induce a natural euphoric high.

  • Just be comfortable and wear loose fitting clothing in order to access the arms and legs as well as the abdomen. It is typical to place needles all over the body head to toe to influence all channels/meridians to balance the body’s energy, hormones, reduce pain and just provide an overall feeling of calm to reduce stress and anxiety. But don’t fret, if you are coming straight from work and have business attire, I have towels and gowns available. You can expect a luxurious spa atmosphere with heated massage tables and the warm and inviting scents of a desert oasis. I use Young Living pure essential oils in my diffusers to create a clean and therapeutic atmosphere.

  • Yes, please have something to eat within 2 hours of your appointment. However, you don’t want to be too full either just before the appointment, as you may not be comfortable lying flat on the table whether you are face up or face down. Think about how you want to feel laying down after a big meal. Another point to make is to think about how you want to feel before getting an hour long massage. That is how long you will typically lay down on the table for acupuncture as well.

  • Typically the answer is no. I highly recommend not to exercise after acupuncture as you will be relaxed and may even feel sleepy. Enjoy this time after treatment to let your body simmer in this euphoric state as long as you can and need, just like after getting a nice massage. However, everybody is different and each individual will have a unique experience with their treatments. Depending on what you are treating for and how you feel that day, you might feel super energized after your treatment. If you don’t have any injuries and you’re feeling strong and ready to seize the day, then I say go for it!

  • Facial acupuncture is also commonly referred to as cosmetic acupuncture, which is a natural and holistic approach to enhance your skin’s health and appearance. It’s like a non-surgical facelift that works from within. This is still a full body acupuncture treatment that focuses on the face and neck to stimulate collagen production, improve blood circulation, balance your hormones, and promote a healthy glow, it’s like a workout for your skin!

Facial acupuncture is not just about beauty, as your skin is your largest organ. It can also help with various skin concerns such as reducing fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin tone, texture and elasticity, minimizing acne and scarring, and even reducing puffiness and dark circles. It’s a true multi-tasker! This treatment is very relaxing and must only be done when an individual is healthy and has no chronic underlying pain and/or disease. Your lifestyle, diet and sleep patterns will be taken into account in order to personalize your treatment plan and address all your unique needs.

Results may vary, but many people report noticeable improvements in their skin’s appearance after a series of facial acupuncture sessions. It’s a gradual process that encourages your skin to naturally rejuvenate and restore its vitality. It is recommended to do 16 sessions back to back once weekly. About halfway through, around treatment number 8, is when you will notice more lasting results. It’s a natural way to boost your skin’s vitality and embrace your inner glow. Why not give it a try?

  • Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a device with tiny, fine needles to create small punctures in the skin. These punctures stimulate the body’s natural healing response, leading to the production of new collagen and elastin fibers. The procedure is typically performed on the face, but can also be done on other parts of the body.

Microneedling is used to improve the appearance of various skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, and uneven skin tone and texture. It can also enhance the absorption of topical skincare products, allowing them to penetrate deeper into the skin. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure the products I use as the practitioner and technician are truly high quality, and non toxic.

This procedure must only be done by a trained professional as it can actually cause more damage and scarring if done improperly. Prior to treatment, a numbing cream may be applied to minimize any discomfort. The device is then gently rolled or stamped over the skin, creating controlled micro-injuries. After the procedure, the skin may appear red and slightly swollen, but these side effects typically subside within a few days.

Multiple sessions of microneedling may be required to achieve optimal results, and the frequency of treatments depends on individual needs and goals, as well as age. It is important to follow proper aftercare instructions, such as avoiding sun exposure and using gentle skincare products, to promote healing and protect the skin. It is mandatory to avoid retinol, vitamin C and hyaluronic acid serums during the healing phase. • Cellulite cupping is a technique used to reduce the appearance of cellulite on the body. It involves using silicone or glass cups to create suction on the skin, which helps to increase blood circulation and lymphatic flow in the targeted areas. The cups are typically moved in a gliding or circular motion over the skin, creating a vacuum effect.

The suction created by the cups is believed to help break up the fat deposits that contribute to cellulite, as well as stimulate collagen production and improve skin elasticity. Additionally, the increased blood flow and lymphatic drainage can help remove toxins and excess swelling and improve the overall appearance of the skin.

Cellulite cupping should only be performed by a trained professional, such as a licensed acupuncturist. It is important to use caution and follow proper techniques to avoid bruising or skin damage.

While cellulite cupping may provide temporary improvement in the appearance of cellulite, it is not a permanent solution. Multiple sessions are usually required to see noticeable results, and maintenance treatments may be necessary to maintain the effects. It is also important to note that individual results may vary, and cellulite cupping may not be effective for everyone. It is also recommended to exercise and eat a healthy diet as part of this treatment plan.

  • Wood cavitation therapy is a term used specifically to describe a particular type of massage or body treatment. It involves the use of wooden tools, typically made from Columbian wood, to perform deep tissue massage and lymphatic drainage.

The wooden tools used in Columbian wood cavitation therapy are often shaped like rollers, spheres, or flat boards with various contours and edges. These tools are used to apply pressure and friction to the skin, targeting areas of cellulite, excess fat, or fluid retention. The massage techniques aim to break down fat cells, stimulate lymphatic flow, and improve blood circulation.

Advocates of Columbian wood cavitation therapy claim that it can help reduce the appearance of cellulite, contour the body, and improve skin tone and texture. However, it’s important to note that the effectiveness of this therapy may vary from person to person, and will also be impacted by each individuals’ genetics, lifestyle and diet.
